What you say to yourself is shaping your life just as much as what you do is.
Have you been speaking words to yourself the wrong way, and could these words be holding you back?
Let’s find out in this short article, shall we?
But first, did you know that words carry life and you’re a product of the words you speak to yourself? What you say will shape your life just as much as what you do will.
What am I getting at?
Here is a quick question. Can you recall how many times you’ve rejected or rebuked the bad things you don’t want in your life? That happens often, yeah?
But how many times have you claimed the good things? (#shrug).
If you grew up from my side of the world, you will agree with me that whether in prayer or simply in speech, a lot of people find it easier to reject negative things rather than prophesy the positive ones.
What do I mean?
For instance, when talking about money, you often hear more of the statement, ‘I don’t want to be poor’, than, ‘I want to be rich.’
It goes further, even in academics, students walk around with fear of failures silently muttering, ‘I don’t want to fail, I don’t want a C, I don’t want to have an extra year…’ and so on.
What about weight watchers? The words you hear most are, ‘I don’t want to be fat.’
Unfortunately, these words carry a lot of negative energy (don’ts) with them.
It’s 2022 and I’m here to tell you… Enough of the don’ts! They are not helping you.
your mind doesn’t recognize the word, don’t.
Here is a piece of vital information you should know – your mind profoundly influences what happens to you. And a large part of this influence comes directly from the words you say to yourself.
Interestingly, your mind doesn’t recognize the word, don’t.
In other words, if you have been rejecting bad stuff more than claiming the good ones, then you have been saying things to yourself the wrong way.
Hey, I used to do it too, so no judgment here.
Admittedly, it’s normal to want to reject the things you’d like to change about yourself. But oftentimes, the ‘don’t’ before this bad stuff doesn’t matter to the mind.
The mind overlooks the don’ts, only picks up the bad stuff, and acts on it. Pretty sad, I know.
For instance, when you say, ‘I don’t want to be poor or I don’t want to fail’. All that your mind can grasp is poor or fail, and that significantly influences its effects on you. Scary, isn’t it?
Of course, someone reading this might say, how could that be?
Well, dear reader, have you ever wondered why children or toddlers do exactly what you tell them not to do? You say, ‘Don’t touch that.’ And that’s exactly what they touch.
Let’s just say, it’s the same way the mind works.
So, then, how do you correct this?
It’s pretty simple. Start by replacing what you don’t want with what you do want.
I spoke with a friend recently asking him what his plan for 2022 was, and he says, ‘I want to be a billionaire.’ Now, that’s a positive affirmation, don’t you think?
You see, your job is to tell your mind WHAT YOU WANT using specific positive, relevant, and exciting words, rather than the negative things you don’t want.
Replace, I don’t want to be poor with, ‘I want to be rich/ I am rich’
Replace I don’t want to earn less with, ‘I want to/ I earn…’ (mention the specific amount you’d like)
Replace, ‘I don’t want to eat fatty foods again‘ with, ‘I eat healthy foods from now on’
Replace, I don’ want to be cranky and moody.’ with, ‘I am an exciting and lively person’.
Replace, ’I don’t want to be forgetful anymore.’ with, I have a retentive memory; I remember things better now.’
Replace, ‘I don’t want to be fat,’ with ‘I have an incredible body. I am fit.’
Replace, ‘I don’t want to be sad,’ with, ‘I am happy.’
To make it easier, start with this simple daily mantra. Say, “Day by day in every way, I am getting better.”
Speak it to yourself consistently – speak it when you wake up, during your prayer, while meditating, when in the bathroom, on your way to work. Anywhere at all, as long as you say it throughout the day.
However, don’t just say it, say it with excitement, say it with passion, say it as though it has already happened!
Day by day in every way, I am getting better
Finally,

The mind they say conceive the expression of our actions and inaction. The subconsciousness is like listening to yourself in the most silent way, where the lines which divide your ability and inability. A place when confidence can be built or in other way a place littered with act of mediocrity….
Good topic. Just add an icing sugar of little faith. You know, like that of mustard seed and watch the magic.
